Low Cost Advertising
February 12, 2009 by Melissa · Leave a Comment
There is no better advertisement campaign that is low cost and also successful at the same time. Great business ideas when utilized effectively can save lots of money. This is not only easy for those who work full-time as an advertiser, but also for those who work from home.
Advertising from home is also a low cost option, which involves making and distributing fliers. Usually potential customers will visit home for business dealing. Print good amount of fliers and give it to anyone who is visiting home like family, friends, mailman, etc. Business cards can also be distributed. Few selected people can be given sample of the product. For those who work outside home, employ college students to distribute fliers at supermarkets, community centers, or malls, especially on weekends, when there is a rush.
Spread the word by the mouth. Talk to everyone about the product and ask them to talk about it to others. It’s a very powerful tool to increase the network and doesn’t even cost anything. When receiving a casual call from family members and friends, don’t forget to tell them about the latest events, discounts and promotions and ask them about what they are up to. If the parties are into the business, it won’t hurt to promote each other. Joint ventures can be started with trustable people of the same trade. The only cost that will be incurred during the whole process is of printing fliers. For a better quality, professional can be hired to design them, as they will be able to play with colors and write motivating material.
Most of the businesses have company bulletin board that they use to put up company’s latest news. Fliers and business cards can be tacked on such bulletin boards. But before doing so, check out with the human resource department before placing the information as most of the HR departments make it compulsory to consult them.
Parents are required to be in regular touch with the teachers to know about the progress of the child and they have meetings from time to time. Do not miss this opportunity and spread the word. Hand them the business card and fliers personally at the meeting, instead of just giving the contact number.
Get involved with fundraiser at schools, as it’s a nice approach to market business. Prior to handing out the order received, collect all necessary information like business card pack, fliers, with proper information. Information can be based on what is the company about, what are the products and services provided, or how to get in touch with the company. In each individual order, carefully place all of them and seal the package properly. Presentation, too, is of importance and should be paid attention.
Voice mails can be put to good use, other than recording messages. They can help to deliver the marketing message. Greet with a brief message, following with website and email address, so that who ever calls will be already having the telephone number and they will be able to learn more about the business by visiting the website. When the company is providing special promotional offers and discounts, include information about those in the voice mail. Discontinuation of any services of products can also be informed about. Repetitive voicemails sound boring, so keep changing the voice mail frequently and add some creativity to it.
Most of the big businesses attach business cards or fliers with out going mail. This works for companies who send bills to their customers. For those who have customers paying online, they can send the information through emails.
Advertisements can be done, in the locality, by placing fliers on the bulletin boards of the local grocery stores, businesses, barbers, or butchers. People frequent these places and there is a possibility of getting a good response. Some businesses place a jar at the reception counter where the business cards can be dropped for future reference, while visiting them.

Affiliate Marketing: Staying Away From Scams
February 11, 2009 by Melissa · Leave a Comment
Many of us are upset and frustrated with our current jobs. The low pay and sense of being undervalued drive many of us to dream of our own businesses. However, the costs combines with the risk factors stops most of us in our tracks. Affiliate marketing is a way for people to work for themselves with no risk. There is no cost to you and you’re paid on performance. However, today one has to be careful. There are plenty of scammers and con artists out there that are more than happy to take you money and hard work off of you. Unfortunately, affiliate marketing is not immune to these scammers. Daily, people are taken in by promises of big money with relatively little effort. In this article we will teach you some of the signs to look for and tell you how to spot a scam.
When you join an affiliate marketing scheme, you either going to sell a product or a service. With products, you usually have a choice and range to sell. How you decide to do this is largely up to you. You could also sell a service. Web page designs as well as increasing sales and internet traffic are all examples of services offered by affiliate marketing programs.
How many times have you seen as ad on the internet promising huge earnings? Things like “Earn 1000$ a day” or Join our program now and become a millionaire. If your look closely at these ads they are not actually selling anything. Any company that is just selling the opportunity to make money is likely a scam. True, some affiliate marketing companies will have attention grabbing headlines like the ones mentioned above. However, if you go on to read the ad and information, there will likely be a detailed description of what they company sells. They will also have a disclaimer and terms and conditions listed.
These companies that offer, the opportunity to make money are likely pyramid schemes. The only people paying money in are the ones actually joining. There is no income being created, just money being passed from person to person. Not only are these scams and you’ll loose what you invested, they are also illegal and you can face prosecution.
Another thing to watch out for is no free participation. If you have to pay to join then you may have stumbled upon a scam or what is known as a multilevel marketing program. Multi-level marketing programs are completely legal and some people make good livings out of them. However, if you’re not successful you may end up purchasing a bunch of products that you cannot sell.
True affiliate programs are free. That is part of their attraction. There are no costs to you and they should also be risk free. Any Affiliate marketing programs that demands your money is not an affiliate program. You should ask yourself why they are misrepresenting themselves this way if they are legitimate.
Many of us dream of being our own bosses. We would love to be able to take control of our lives and careers. The attraction of answering only to you combined with setting your own working hours and committing what your choose bring loads of people into the affiliate marketing schemes. Affilaite marketing can be an excellent way for a highly motivated, creative person to make an excellent living. There are some wonderful programs out there just waiting to be joined. However, for every great program there is likely one that is fraudulent. Con artists operate in many areas and unfortunate affiliate marketing is not immune.
Before joining, check to see what the company is selling. If they are not selling goods or services then they are likely an illegal pyramid scheme. If they require your own money to get started then they are what are known as a multi level marketing program. Affiliate marketing can be a great opportunity but you need to do your homework.

3 Things All Affiliate Marketers Need To Survive Online
February 11, 2009 by Melissa · Leave a Comment
Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck. Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication.
There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.
What are these three tactics?
1. Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.
Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.
You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.
2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed. Try to create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.
Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never return again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.
Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word “free” because there are still older spam filters that dumps those kind of contents into the junk before even anyone reading them first. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.
3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that is focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.
Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day.
Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.
The tactics given above does not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.
Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do.
Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving…

Top 3 Reasons Your Home-Based Business Needs a Catchy Tagline!
January 3, 2009 by Tina · Leave a Comment
Think your home-based business doesn’t need a slogan? Think again! Consumers are bombarded with marketing messages every single day. While many may just slip past and bypass the consumer’s thoughts, just as many seep in and guide that consumer toward or possibly away from, their next purchase of a product or service. A slogan is like the hook on the end of a fishing wire…the hook that your wahm business needs to lure customers away from the competition and toward you! So here are the top 3 reasons why your small or home-based business needs a slogan:
1 – You need to brand yourself with a consistent marketing message. How will anyone remember you if every single piece of marketing flies out the proverbial door looking and sounding different? Sure you can change things up here and there when you hold different promotions and expand your offerings, but you need to brand the business itself and to do that, you want a consistent message that you send to your target market.
2 – You need to set yourself apart from the competition! WAHM businesses are booming! More and more mommies are moonlighting to start up their dream companies or quitting their day jobs altogether to start that at-home biz they’ve always been talking about. Direct competition is popping up all around you and when you’re in a forest full of trees, do you want to look like the rest of the trees? Not if you want to get the clients to find you and start paying you the big bucks! You want to stand out amongst the crowd. And you can do that with a snappy slogan!
3 – It’s your virtual 7-second elevator speech! So, every business book out there will tell you and practically knock it into your head that you should be able to tell any person, at any time, what you do. And you should be able to have it down to a clear, concise phrase that can be said in seven seconds or less. A slogan is just like that…okay, it may not exactly say everything you do in a single phrase…but it condenses your product or service, perhaps your business philosophy or your business objective…It takes that and gives it to people who you aren’t stuck in an elevator with. People stumbling across your website. People handed your business card. People who just happen to come across some marketing materials for your business. They all become privy to that virtual 7-second elevator speech that you have given via a catchy tagline.
When it boils down to it, every business needs a slogan or tagline to brand their business. From big to small. It helps to further your marketing efforts. It gives your business a distinct personality. And it helps your wahm business stand out in a sea of businesses.
**Only a few more days before the THREE FREE SLOGANS special over at 72HourBrainstorm ends! Need a catchy tagline for your biz? You can get three free slogan ideas in exchange for a testimonial. But this offer ends on January 10th!!**

Social Networking Can Help Get Your Message Across
December 20, 2008 by Melissa · Leave a Comment
The success of social networking marks a dynamic shift in how we use the Internet. This is based on the mentality that people who share the same interests are drawn together and given that that cyberspace has not barriers, we are able to get our message across the globe.
This makes the job of people involved in viral marketing and word of mouth much easier because you are not necessarily making money from them but getting referrals which helps in promoting your business.
As you can see, there is a startling difference between the traditional search engine and social networking. The first one uses keywords in the hopes that people who use a search engine will be able to find you. The second is a platform because members will not only see your profile but be able to click on a link to go to your site.
When members like what you have done to your webpage, they will most likely save it, store it and even share it with others so you are able to advertise your product or service without even paying for advertising.
But social networking is just one of the tools that are used these days by most businesses. They also rely on blogs, podcasts and RSS feeds to reach a larger audience. Although it does not reach a specific market, it makes social networking the ideal choice when promoting a product or service.
Just to give you an idea, companies spent $525 million in 2007 using a social networking to advertise their products. Estimates show that this figure could increase up to $810 million by 2008 and this is done not by just signing up as a member. Some have used banner or display ads so this can be featured in other sites.
Some within the social networking site have established their own groups so they are able to share their knowledge and experience in their area of business. You can even create profiles with the purpose of sharing knowledge which are very similar to blogs that brings a real person in the forefront to add a more personal touch.
Which one should you use? Some people use one while others use both. To maximize the use banners and pop up ads, it is best to put it in more than one social network. As for those who will be creating groups, you must make sure there is time to update the information there. Ideally, this should be one using one or two social networks.
After all the work is done, you will now have to measure its effectiveness by counting how much money is coming in. Is this going according to your expectations? If it is, then you are on the right track but if things are not going as planned, then that means that there is room for improvement.
Social networking can indeed get your message across so people will become aware of your products and services. With so many sites to choose from, it won’t be hard for you to get sign up with one and then do the same with another. This can only be achieved of course by making a first time buyer a regular customer who will spread your business by word of mouth.

Using Yahoo! Answers as a Free Marketing Tool
December 5, 2008 by Tina · Leave a Comment
Do you like to help people? Do you like to give advice and answer questions? Do you like to find free ways to market your articles or sales page?
Then you should go check out Yahoo! Answers.
Create a profile and then get started. You can search for certain terms that relate to whatever you are promoting. Or, you can browse the categories and go from there. When you come across a question that you can answer (and answer well) then go ahead and type up your answer. Then in the “Source” box below your answer, you can type in the url of the page you want readers to (hopefully) visit. (Don’t forget the http://)
Obviously, this is about presenting some thoughtful answers to the question posed. It would be bad form for you to just go crazy posting your link willy-nilly and giving half-witted answers to people who posed a question in the hopes of getting an honest answer.
So…an example would be me promoting The WAHM Agent. I want to target moms who want to work in the real estate industry, or who are currently working in the real estate industry but want guidance to better work their r.e. biz or get specific marketing ideas.
I went to the “Business & Finance” category. Then to “Renting & Real Estate” sub-category. There, I browsed through the questions posed for the past week. I found a handful of questions ranging from whether this was a good time to enter the real estate industry to whether it was easy to get a real estate license. I answered these questions honestly and with detail…but without writing a book, either. And then in the source box I placed the link to my ebook website.
I plan on keeping my eyes on the traffic stats to see how things go.
But you can see that just spending some time on Yahoo! Answers in the categories relevant to whatever you are selling or promoting (be it your own product or your affiliate products) could get you some traffic if you answer succinctly and add a link for the reader to check out. And free marketing that can send traffic is always a good thing!!

Blogging For Your Business
November 29, 2008 by Melissa · 4 Comments
Remember the old ways of keeping in touch with your clients? You usually patch them through telephone; fax machines, direct mail marketing, and even personal meetings.
But now, entrepreneurs are just smart enough to use the existing Internet technology to be regularly updated of the latest trends in business and at the same time keeping in touch with their clients. There is now text and voice chat, exchanges of e-mail, website forums, and others.
One of the most online business innovation ever made is the transformation of the regular blog posting into an online business tool. Before, blogging is just used for showing different thoughts and ideas. Some are just for fun, while others are for promotion of something that others think is beneficial to other Internet users. In other words, it is just a bunch of personal diaries and bulletin board for those people who want to share their knowledge and thoughts to others.
But think again, it is not just for diary writing or whatever. It is now a promotion tool you can use to boost your business. You can set up blogs in your website and have it with an associated RSS feed. In other words, you can constantly keep in touch with your clients and potential customers as well. In addition, you do not have to e-mail them—your blogs will be responsible in getting the latest news without actually having to visit your website.
From Regular Blogs to Business Blogs
From regular blogs that you post for nothing, now it is called the business blog that can help you save thousands of dollar and providing you great business opportunity with just one click. Not only it is free to use but also it is user-friendly, can be customized, and can be a flexible medium for circulating useful information for effective positioning of your products in the market.
There are some noted advantages of entrepreneurs who engage in business blogging. Here are some of these advantages:
· There are more than hundred thousands of blogs posted in the Internet. Statistics shows that there are currently 14 million blogs posted in the Internet with an estimated 80,000 more being added everyday. In addition, 30 percent of 50 million Internet users are blog readers. Just think of the number of possible audiences you can attract if you will advertise your product through blogs.
· Through blogs, you allow your clients to post their comments with regards to the product that you are offering. It can be of great help in improving your product through the suggestions that they will be posting. In addition, you can take immediate actions to your client’s concerns.
· Since blogs are quite popular to most Internet users, it can be of easy access to your customers. All they have to do is to access to a blogging community, and they can read your latest product offering. Remember that these customers are just willing to create “blogosphere” of comments regarding your product.
How to make your business blogs as effective as other means of Internet advertising? You can submit your blogs to any blog search sites and directories. It will be a wise move especially if your site is just newly-constructed.
Never forget to paste in your blogs the URL back to your site. Your blogs must contain not only the information with regards to your product but only but also exclusive background information. Remember that your customers do not want to see pure figures—they also want context information.
Business blogs provides you marketing possibilities of your product. Maybe your potential clients are just around the corner waiting for you to post your business blog.
