To often times many of us dread having to start preparing and creating our Holiday meals, between purchasing all of the items and making sure we didn’t miss anything. Then having to make sure we have enough food for all of our guests and that everyone will be happy with our food choices, it can be a very overwhelming and stressful time.
Sometimes it is easy to remember that while cooking and preparing your Holiday meal is important, it is also to simply remember that socializing with your family during this time is so important. Hiding out in the kitchen alone, slaving over the stove top is not a fun way to spend your Holiday time. One solution is to prepare some of your food dishes ahead of time and then simply put them in your freezer or refrigerator so that it allows you more time to spend with your family and friends on your Holiday.
Some ideas is to prepare your Mash Potatoes ahead of time as these can the most time consuming dish to prepare. Simply create your mash potatoes ahead of time and put into your refrigerator so all you have to do is warm up on the day of your Holiday Meal. Another side dish that can be prepared ahead of time is your sweet potatoes or yam casserole simply add all of your ingredients but the marshmallows and put into your refrigerator until the day of the meal. And lastly you can mix your green beans and soup together for your green bean casserole and put into your refrigerator. By planning ahead and trying to make a few dishes ahead of time, it allows you to simply pull out your side dishes pop into the oven and relax over a glass of wine with your guests.
