You might think it is a bit strange adding cake mix to dinner rolls but it really does work. Also it’s a great time saver if you are in a pinch for rolls. I have to admit I tried this recipe out of curiosity. I am all for using a cake mix as a time saver in a lot of my recipes. In most recipes you cant even detect that a cake mix was used, those are my favorite recipes. These rolls have a slightly sweet taste and baked up really nice. My husband thought they were really good and could not even tell that I used a cake mix until I mentioned it to him. This recipe is very versatile and can be used to make cinnamon rolls as well. Just roll out the dough into a rectangle and slather butter all over the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Roll up and cut into slices and place in a greased dish. You can sprinkle more cinnamon sugar on top if you like. Make up a homemade powdered sugar glaze or cream cheese frosting and top them off.
